Gemstone Properties
Blue Topaz Topaz is a silicate mineral of aluminum and fluorine and its crystals are mostly prismatic terminated by pyramidal and other faces. Blue topaz is the US state Texas' gemstone. Naturally occurring blue topaz is quite rare and very expensive. Typically, colorless, gray or pale yellow and blue topaz stones are heat treated and irradiated to produce a more desired darker blue color.
Chalcedony Chalcedony symbolized calmness and composure, and for the Tibetans it is a stone of purity and concentration and internalization of the essential. The name is said to have come from the city of it's discovery, Chalcedon on the Bosphorus. It was quite a popular decorative stone in antiquity, when it was carved with motifs of the air and water deities and water sprites. This was done as the stone is associated with the weather and helped deal with disorders caused the it. It is found in several colors including blue, white and pink.
Larimar Larimar, a gentle, kind, soft aqua blue of the Caribbean sea, found in a stone in but just one location worldwide. Discovered by Mr. Mendez, a Peace Corp worker, in 1974, he gave it the name Larimar....Lari (after his daughter Larisa) and Mar (from the Spanish name for Sea) as the colors so resembled the sea which was so close in proximity. Larimar's powers are believed to lie in the ability to help us view events from a different perspective than what we have already formed. It softens, enlightens and heals in a physical, emotion, mental and spiritual fashion. As a gentle, soft, sky blue Caribbean healer, it brings the tranquility of the sea and air to heart and mind. It soothes and uplifts hurt, fear, depression, pain of life, change, and trauma in an amazing way. Larimar will help with self expression, patience, acceptance, simplicity, artwork and creativity, in one's life.
Rainbow Moonstone The moonstone is characterized by an enchanting play of light and always looks different when the stone is moved. Rainbow moonstone has a multitude of colors that refract thru the stone as you move it. In earlier times, people believed they could see the crescent and waning phases of the moon. This gemstone is surrounded by a good deal of mystique and magic. In many cultures, it is regarded as a holy, magical gemstone as 'dream stones' which bring the wearer beautiful visions at night and are said to aid fertility. It is also said that wearing a moonstone strengthens our intuition and our capacity to understand.
Materials
Sterling Silver Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of pure silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. Sterling silver is hypo-allergenic though a few people may have reactions depending on their individual body chemistry. With regular ware, sterling silver does not tarnish, however if not worn for a period of time, the copper or other metals can tarnish or blacken. A polishing cloth is the simplest way to clean and polish your sterling silver.
